It's a Colorful World

Hi!

Happy New Year everyone! As many of you know already I am beginning a toddler curriculum with my little love Lawson. He is a high energy, loving and adventurous toddler who loves to learn new things. We are in no means homebodies, so a lot of my activities will involve us getting out of the house and going to explore our world, especially in the warmer months.

I have outlined the next 52 weeks based on themes that really focus on the holidays, seasons and our personal activities and vacations. If there is ever a time that you want to change something or need help differentiated to best fit your child needs please feel free to contact me and I will be more than happy to help.

So let’s get started! For the first 2 weeks I have decided to work with colors. We haven’t really hit colors as much as I would like and there are tons of activities that can be used. With that being said I thought it would be the easiest starting place. The first thing I did when creating a plan for each day was a book inventory. I went through all of my son’s books to see what books about colors we already had to use so that I wasn’t going out and buying more stuff. The books listed are books I have on hand but you can use any books about colors that you desire.

GOAL: My child will be able to say and/ or identify the colors of the rainbow. Identification can be reached by sorting, pointing or naming the colors of objects.

I did not BUY anything for this lesson. I used toys and items that we already had around the house. Please do not feel pressured to buy anything. the reason I started my own and started sharing was because I did not want to buy a bunch of stuff. If you need help deciding what materials you have that will work PLEASE message me anytime!
